SHIMI courier riding through the city

Drive with SHIMI, today.

Join the SHIMI delivery network with your bakkie, truck or motorcycle and get paid for every delivery you complete.

Signed up in three steps

The application takes about five minutes, and your progress is saved — start now, finish whenever.

1

Register your vehicle

Photograph the licence disc on the windscreen, snap the vehicle from each side, and add the registration. That's the whole vehicle file.

2

Add your details

Your name, contact number and ID — or passport and work permit. We verify your number with a quick SMS code before you submit.

3

Get verified, start earning

Our team reviews your application and takes you through onboarding. From there you're paid per delivery you complete.

Every size earns

From motorcycles to trucks — if it can carry a customer's load, there's work for it on SHIMI.

Why drivers choose SHIMI

Steady delivery work from customers and businesses across Gauteng — matched to your vehicle, not the other way around.

Paid per delivery

No subscription, no joining fee. You earn on every delivery you complete — the work pays, not the platform.

Drive on your terms

Take the jobs that fit your day. Your vehicle keeps earning when you want it to, and rests when you don't.

Grow a fleet

Register more than one vehicle under the same application. A second bakkie is a second income stream.

A team behind you

Our operations team monitors every delivery end-to-end — you're never on your own with a difficult stop.

Have these ready

Everything is photographed with your phone as you go — no scanning, no paperwork to post.

Your vehicle's licence disc

Current and readable — you photograph it on the windscreen.

The vehicle itself

Photos of the front, back, both sides, the cargo area and the odometer.

Your ID

SA ID — or passport plus a valid work permit for foreign nationals.

A smartphone

You apply, photograph and receive delivery jobs on your phone.

Police clearance: get a head start

A valid police clearance certificate is required to be approved as a SHIMI driver. You don't upload it yet, but it can take a few weeks, so start now:

  1. Apply for a SAPS Police Clearance Certificate at your nearest police station, or online via the SAPS website.
  2. Bring your ID and have your fingerprints taken. There is a small prescribed fee.
  3. Keep the certificate. You'll upload it when document collection opens for your application.

Driver questions, answered

What drivers ask us before they apply.

Nothing. There's no joining fee and no subscription — SHIMI earns only when you earn, per delivery.

About five minutes if you have your vehicle and ID at hand. Your progress saves automatically, so you can stop and pick it up later on the same phone.

No. Enter your name and number and go — we only verify your number with an SMS code right before you submit.

Yes. You register at least one vehicle — bakkie, truck or motorcycle — with its licence disc. You can register more than one vehicle under the same application.

Our team reviews your application and vehicles. If anything needs fixing we send it back with notes; once approved, the team takes you through onboarding and payout setup.

To apply: your licence disc, vehicle photos and your ID. Compliance documents — driver's licence, police clearance, insurance — are collected during verification, so you can apply today and gather those in parallel.

Your vehicle could be earning this week

Five minutes, your licence disc and your ID — that's the whole application. Our team handles the rest.
